Resume :
The amount of sequencing data available on public data archives has been growing exponentially over the last two decades. Often only a fraction of the information contained within a data set is explored by the study in which the data were generated. Public sequencing data therefore holds a tremendous potential for re-use and integration to investigate novel scientific aspects. However, such approaches require the data to be FAIR, i.e. described with rich, standard-compliant and machine- readable metadata.
