M. Khaled FADHLAOUI

I am a research engineer in microbiology, working part-time at LMBE – MEB team, with a focus on anaerobic microbiology; bacteria and archaea. My research explores these microorganisms in both natural ecosystems (lakes, extreme environments...) and anthropized environments (bioenergy fermenters, contaminated sites...). I am especially interested in metabolic groups that hold fundamental and/or biotechnological significance.

Once isolated, I investigate their physiology, metabolism, and unique metabolic features by combining cultivation approaches with comparative genomic analyses. I am also interested in applying these microorganisms in various bioprocesses, particularly bioenergy processes such as methanation, aiming to optimize novel procedures adapted to the newly isolated strains.

My work as a research engineer is closely linked to technical development and technological innovation, which consistently support and enhance my scientific research, regardless of the specific questions or approaches involved.
